Our Campaign to make small-scale food production easier

Our Campaign LEGALISE LOCAL FOOD has brought about regulatory changes in food safety and tax systems, which — as of 1 January 2017 – enable farmers to process food grown on their farms and sell it directly to consumers. Previously in Poland, farmers could only sell unprocessed food products directly to the consumer.  There is still a need  to push for applying more flexible hygiene rules to small-scale farm-based food production and more scope for group or joint selling. But the key challenge now lies in working out ways for connecting geographically dispersed (mostly rural) producers with (mostly urban) producers.

This is a logistical and organizational challenge requiring still more regulatory changes.
