The Carrot Bistro (Marchewka) is at the heart of the Local Food Culinary Centre, which offers meals made from locally-produced food and drink. Home cooking at affordable prices. The Marchewka experience is about educating and raising awareness about local food possibilities, encouraging also home cooking and experimentation. Jerzy Poznanski, a master chef and local food enthusiast helped initiate operations. There is no place for artificial additives, microwaves or frozen food. Food is from local food producers – always seasonal, fresh and chemical-free.

You can drop in or book a meal. You can order local food products and pick them up later. A seasonal market offers fresh vegetables and fruit.  You can join a Buyers’ Club for regular access to local products. Or order a catering service to bring the Marchewka experience to your home, office, school or event.

Opened in June 2015, the Bistro is a meeting place, signposting visitors to local farms, farmers and food producers, and an organizer of culinary events, which is fast becoming part of the cultural programming of the Nowa Huta Cultural Centre.

An educational programme focusing on culinary, environmental and consumer issues is growing a Marchewka community. Ou ambition is to connect young and old, the city and the countryside – and serve Nowa Huta residents.
